Beach Vacation 2014

On July 11th through the 20th, we traveled to Navarre Beach in Florida for a week of sun, sand, and surf.

We went from Forney to Hattiesburg, MS on Friday and made really good time.  We met up with Grandmother and Granddaddy and Uncle Taylor and Aunt Rebecca in Monroe, LA around lunchtime, ate in Monroe and made it into Hattiesburg early enough to catch a movie (John stayed with Grandmother and Granddaddy) before going to dinner.  The only thing we forgot while packing was the pack and play.  Kind of a big one to forget!  So we went to Target and Grandmother bought one for the week- so now they have a place for kiddos to sleep when we are in Tyler.  I guess it worked out for the best, huh?

On Saturday we got up early and made it to Navarre without incident!  The girls went to the grocery store and stocked up for the week, and then except for some dinners out at The Shrimp Basket and some local restaurants, we never left the beach!

It took John a while to warm up to the sand and ocean waves- but once he did he would go face first to play!

The city had an ordinance that did not let us leave our stuff on the beach over night (we usually stack all the chairs under the tent frame for overnight), so I was so happy we had purchased this wagon before going on the trip- and that we took it with us.  Plus, it was perfect for putting John in for going and coming!

John was usually the first one up every morning- our little, human alarm clock!

Matt and I went on a date night into Destin one evening and had some fun playing Putt-Putt and riding Go Karts

Last night on the beach, we attempted to get some pics of John- it kinda worked.

At the end of the week, Uncle Taylor and Aunt Rebecca drove back to Allen in one day and the rest of us stopped in Jackson, MS.  We did some shopping and had some Mexican food before crashing at the hotel.  The next day, we made it home just in time for John to take his bottle and pass out hard!
